Simple Setup:
1) Place plastic trap on a stable, flat work surface
2) Use a Pen or Pencil to pierce the top cone of the trap
3) Place in infected area for up to 30 days
4) Once trap is no longer needed or has been 30 days toss into recycling bin.
Proven to Perform:
Secondary testing has shown that Beapco’s Fruit Fly Traps capture 2.2 times more fruit flies than other leading household brands.

I distributed all six traps throughout the house. The one in the garage looked pretty much like the product photo, it must have had well over 100 dead and dieing fruit flies in it. We noticed a change overnight and virtually all of the flies were gone within three days.
Here are a few tips:
Tip #1 – don’t leave garbage in your kitchen trash can! These traps work, but they can’t compete with the real thing. Rotted food and fruit will certainly attract more flies than any trap.
Tip #2 – Put the traps out as soon as you see the first fruit flies. They can breed and lay eggs in 24 hours.
Tip #3 – Leave the traps out for a few weeks. An entire generation of flies only takes 10 days, more are on the way!
I reviewed a different trap last year. I like this one better because you get six traps and extra liquid bait.

These are AWESOME. They solved my kitchen fruit fly problem in under 24 hours. Even with a flat of tomatoes and two ripe cantaloupes on the counter, the fruit flies still went right for the trap. Best of all, they fell in and stayed in. I’ve made many homemade traps that attracted tons of flies, but allowed probably 85% to still escape again. Not so with this design. This is the fruit fly trap of DOOM.
The traps are empty, dry, little plastic containers, and you add liquid attractant to them–it comes in a separate dropper bottle in the kit. I suspect it’s apple cider vinegar, but fairly pale and weak. Technically you can add whatever liquid you wanted into the trap, so I saw an opportunity for an experiment.
The first night I got these, I made two traps – one with the liquid attractant, and one with apple cider vinegar from my pantry. In this case, it was a fancy organic unfiltered variety from Whole Foods that had been in my pantry for at least three years. “Spectrum” brand.
Next morning: Trap with the manufacturer’s attractant: 4 flies. Trap with apple cider vinegar: 19.
How long can you use them? The design isn’t exactly easy to rinse out. I guess the idea is that they last until the liquid is so full of flies that the trap ceases to be effective, and then you toss them and use another. But if you’re willing to put a few minutes of messy work into it, it’s possible to re-use them. Take a full trap, top it off with water, and shake it until most of the liquid (and flies) are out. Refill and repeat until all the flies are gone. Finally, shake as much water as you can out of it and then re-fill carefully with drops of fresh apple cider vinegar. UPDATE: I’ve used these again and again for 2 years now.
Definitely get different apple cider vinegar though because it was MUCH more effective than the attractant liquid. I tried a couple of brands, and darker-colored apple cider seemed to work better than lighter. Throw out the attractant – it’s uselessness is probably the reason for the 1-star reviews.
I also ran tests later with wine, balsamic vinegar, and fruit juice. Those baits worked a little bit, but didn’t come close to how well apple cider vinegar performed. These work so well that I actually give them as gifts to chef friends.

I had a very large fruit fly problem after going Peach picking in September. These damn things were all over the place. I tried making my own home remedy with the apple cider vinegar in a cup and some drops of dish washing liquid. I got some mixed results after a week or so maybe captured 5-20 in each cup laying around in my home. I purchased these along with the Terro Fruit Fly Trap- shaped like an apple The Terro ones arrived first and I caught 20-30 in first few days I thought it was great…then I put these BEAPCO ones to work..WOW!!! in less than an hour I had capture 7…over night 20-30. Came back from work just now and it stuffed with fruit flies, I cant even count…I can even see the maggots sink in the bottom. These things work great!
I would highly recommend over the Terro one shaped like an apple. it comes with 6 containers and enough liquid to fill them all up. It was easy. I don’t know why some people believe the installation is so hard? Open the lid squirt the fluid into the plastic? Easy

These little amazing things just got here less than an hour ago. As soon as they arrived, I filled and put one on my bathroom sink. There is a total of 5 gnats in here. After 3 minutes 4 of the 5 were crawling around the outside. It took everything in me not to smack them and kill them. After 32 minutes all 5 of them are inside, and 3 are floating. The other 2 are still wandering around inside. So far I’m extremely happy. I just put one on the kitchen sink, and hope to see all of them floating in there in the next hour. We have an abandoned house next to ours that they do nothing with. There’s a mulberry tree in the back which causes our house and all of our surrounding neighbors to have gnats and flies swarming outside, you open the door and 5 flies are in. I wish there was a huge one that I could put right between our houses. That would completely solve the problem. I will be ordering many more of these tiny miracles and putting them outside as well. I will also let my neighbors know how well they work. We have all tried everything, and nothing has worked this well this fast. Very happy.
Truthful –
Really, really worked for me.
On Day 1, the fruit flies seemed curious and hung out around the traps.
On Day 2, a few of them had been trapped permanently, while the others remained “interested”. There were still a few flying around, unwilling to join their friends.
On Day 3, there was a serious gathering INSIDE of the traps. One or two hold outs kept a safe distance.
On Day 4, friends, family, distant relatives, whole communities and nations had gathered INSIDE.
Frankly, I was seriously ashamed to see how many actually existed in the first place. I will never leave ripe papaya out on the kitchen counter again. I now keep tiny trash bags to place any worrisome food items into before placing them in the larger trash can.
I have to say that I put out three of these traps at once (one near the trash; one on the kitchen counter and one a water filter I keep near the kitchen counter). I didn’t want to chance not getting them all as soon as possible.
It’s been two weeks and I’ve left them out. I’ve gone from shame to pride and recently caught a few more from, of all things, cooked quinoa that was left on a pot I didn’t wash right away.
These work. From the smell, I can tell that they use apple cider, but since you have to shake the bottle with the “trapping fluid” before squeezing into the trap containers, I assume there is at least one other ingredient.
Easy to use, food safe, effective. Buy it.

Some one might be getting some action out of this product, but for us nada, zip, zero, nothing. The little buggers flit around your head as you sit to watch t.v. , crawl all over your book as you lay reading. So we ordered this product. It arrived on the 26th of July and we immediately put out three traps. I check the traps daily and as of this date not one of the little buggers has decided to take a life ending dip. So either one has to grab a little fruit fly by the wings and key it out to determine what species of bug it is or one must make an assumption that these are not fruit flies. Anyhow it hasn’t worked for us, but it is still sitting on shelves awaiting a chance that an unwary bugger will prove me wrong and stop to take a sip.

I had my first fruit fly infestation last month after making a few things of fruit salad, and they weren’t going away. 2 flies led to 50 flies! They were everywhere, couldn’t even have a plate of food out without the things swarming ove it, and every time I made a cup of coffee, they flew right into it. So, in a fit of rage, I searched Amazon for a solution a boom! Found these babies! I put 3 of the 6 out, and after 24 hours, 50 flies went down to 1 or 2 stragglers! Very pleased, and will definitely recommend to others/buy again! Thank you!

If this product could work as well as it has in my situation, I imagine it would work well almost anywhere. I have had a fruit-fly problem which has been exacerbated by someone else in the household not being diligent about not leaving out things which attract the bugs. However, I wanted to at least try to make some sort of dent in the problem. Well, using the liquid solution provided, one of these caught 13 fruit flies within 24 hours DESPITE being right next to something which the things were attracted to (I won’t go into detail- it was food). And, of course, the other units are working in the more controlled areas where the darned things still fly around looking for potential sustenance. I love the simple, effective design. Very unobtrusive. The solution only has a noticeable (and I’ve got a sensitive nose) odor if you have you nose right on top of it. No more rigging up ugly paper cones taped on top of vinegar bottles!

We’ve had fruit fly problems every year, and it lasts a few months each time. It has been an annoying, gross problem. It doesn’t help that we have three young kids who leave food out all the time.
I bought this product a year ago and started using it around the tail end of fruit fly season, so I didn’t get to see it all play out. THIS year, I set out a trap as soon as we saw some fruit flies around (about a month before writing this review), and THIS THING WORKS. Every day there are more and more flies trapped in there and we have not had fruit fly problems this year. Every once in a while we’ll see one flying around that hasn’t found the trap yet; it will in a few hours.
We started with one trap near our toaster by the wall, mostly out of view. After a day I got impatient with the lack of progress so I moved it next to the sink. It took 2-3 days for them to start going in there, but soon it was like a magnet, more and more every day.
A couple weeks later we noticed there were some flies in the pantry where we keep our garbage can and banana bowl, so I put another trap on a shelf in there. That was in the evening. The next morning there were 8 trapped, and the number has grown steadily.
As far as I can tell, there’s no smell.

We had fruit fly’s all over our house. It was very obnoxious! I finally purchase the Beapco fly traps. Within hours the trap we placed next to our fruit bowl had caught many fly’s. The traps are now full of dead fly’s, and our house is mostly free from these pest.
Brandie –
These things are AMAZING! I’ve had them less than 24 hours and the amount of fruit flies they have trapped is ridiculous. I never thought I would be the person to write a glowing review about fruit fly traps, but thanks to uninvited guests who arrived via a Peapod order, here I am writing one. On the rare occasions where I have had fruit flies, I have always made my own traps with balsamic vinegar and had pretty good results, but these things make my traps look like amateur hour. In like 2-3 hours of leaving one on the counter, I had significantly more dead pests in the trap than in my homemade one right next to it. Whatever is in there is some good stuff. They like it even more than all of the wine glasses of mine that they took a swim in this week. So gross but I bet they will be long gone by the time I get home from work today. Thank god. Attached a pic of one of the traps after only a few hours last night. SO NASTY.
Will P. –
In the past I’ve made my own fruit fly traps with good success, but this time I was too busy, so I thought I’d try a commercial product. I didn’t set my expectation level high. When I got the package, there were only a few flies seen in different parts of the house, not many at all. I put these out, 4 in different parts of the kitchen, and one in the living room and one in the TV room, because I had seen a couple in each room. Overnight, they all trapped several flies, much more than I had anticipated from the few I’ve seen! Even in the TV room, which is about 20′ x 40′, I only put ONE trap because I only saw one fly there, and it trapped several. This is well worth the time I save in finding the materials and making my own traps! I’m going to order some for future incidents!

These work excellently! I was so infuriated with all the gnats at my apartment, even when my apartment was other-wise clean, there would still be at minimum 10 gnats in the air buzzing around your head. So annoying. So glad I purchased these! They really do work, just after one night, I noticed less gnats in the air and tons of dead ones in the cups. After one full 24-hour period, all of the gnats were gone. The only drawback, is these only last about 2 months before the fluid in them is congealed and they no longer catch gnats. I tried to drain and re-fill the used plastic cups, but it does NOT work, unless you’re extremely patient or modify them in some way, there’s no easy way to get the old fluid out.
Luckily the gnats only really come out in the summer months, so I just order a couple of the 6-packs of these and use them until the gnats no longer try to invade my life.
Definitely buy these. If you’re reading this page you want these already.

Okay, so we moved into a brand new apartment building and then one day found ourselves constantly battling fruit flies. It was pretty consistent but seemed to get less and then pick up again. We started with homemade traps like our numerous google searches suggested and took 2 small cups and poured in some apple cider vinegar and a few drops of dish soap. We covered it with saran wrap and poked holes in it. We naturally assumed the fruit flies were coming from the kitchen (even though we had no food out at all, and it was immaculately clean) so we kept the traps on the kitchen counter. We also poured boiling water down all the drains in the apartment. We caught quite a lot of flies using this method however we just seemed to be getting more and more. So after a week, we decided to go ahead and spend the $14 and buy this 6 pack of special containers with basically the same ingredients we had been using. We set up all 6 traps and placed them in the kitchen, the living room, near the entrance, the bathroom near the night light, and the bedroom. We closed the bathroom and bedroom doors and plugged/closed all the drains. We noticed right away that the first few fruit flies landed inside the trap were able to fly right out. Due to our previous knowledge, we just added a few more drops of dish soap to each trap. We left our apartment for about 24 hours. When we came back and there was a decent amount of fruit flies in the traps that weren’t in the bathroom or bedroom. Maybe about 20-30. We didn’t see any flying around. We then opened the bathroom and again found maybe about 20 in the trap with none flying around. Last, we opened the bedroom……. the bedroom that has no food, no plants, no open windows, no nothing. And found a couple hundred in the one trap we placed in there. Again, none flying around. Upon further inspection, we found a few dead ones scattered on the floor/window sill. We opened up the PTAC heating/cooling unit in the wall and found nothing. So for the life of us, we could not figure out where these annoying guys were coming from… needless to say we will be leaving these traps out for at least another few weeks to make sure no more have time to lay anymore eggs. Bottom line….. the solution itself can easily be made yourself but these containers are GLORIOUS. Not only can you place a bunch all over the place to try and find the sources, but you can also clearly see how many suckers you got. And if you’re daring, you can even empty them and re-use them with your own solution. Hopefully they’re gone for good but we’ll see….. BEST $14 spent ever.

We’ve been dealing with a lot of fruit flies over the summer in Dallas and these have been so helpful in trapping them. The solution is essentially a vinegar & soap type liquid but it is so much better than using plain apple cider vinegar as this doesn’t have any smell.
The bottle perfectly fills the 6 traps evenly. The traps are lightweight and discreet enough to leave on counters/tables without making it very obvious. We noticed them all over our apartment so we placed one in each bathroom as well and it easily tucks behind the soap dispenser.
We’ve purchased these multiple times and no complaints from us on quality and effectiveness. The first time around we had a TON of fruit flies around our house to the point where we couldn’t leave anything outside, even sealed bottles of oil or tubs of ground coffee. These trapped a lot of flies in each one…more than 20 in some of them. The more we used it (changing every month), the flies were less and less.
Hypercussion –
If you’ve ever had a fruit fly infestation you know how annoying they can be. We made the mistake of letting some bananas in our kitchen go bad and out of nowhere seemingly overnight there were a number of fruit flies in our kitchen that eventually started living the drain of the sink. I tried other remedies including making a home made concoction of water, sugar, vinegar and dish detergent which did trap some but they still seemed to multiply faster than the rate at which they were being killed. I set 3 of these BEAP traps out last night and was shocked that by morning I had at least a dozen or more trapped in just the trap I set out by the sink alone and a couple of wanderers that were trapped in other rooms of the house. I’m very confident that at this rate this will do the trick. I also like that the solution used to attract them is non toxic.
M. O’Connor –
I purchased this 6-Pack of Fruit Fly Traps from seller, BeapCo, and I received six small clear plastic disks and a liquid solution that spilled all over the place because it was hard to open. After filling disks, I placed them around the kitchen and waited. I gave it a day. Nothing. Another day. Nothing. I am not able to see any fruit flies in the solution, and it’s very easy to see inside of the disks so it’s quite simply not catching fruit flies. I did do a massive cleaning before setting the traps, but I’m still seeing a random fruit fly here and there and not one is inside of any one of the six traps. As I write this, a fruit fly is buzzing around my head about five feet away from a trap. Needless to say, I will not purchase this item again. I hope my experience is a rare occurrence and that others get relief from this product. Also, I hope that this review helps to better inform your purchasing decision on this product. Thanks so much for reading.

These work great. This year my home became infested with these little gnats in late summer.
I put one of these in every major area of the house and am 100% satisfied with these.
They trapped a lot of those little annoying things.
The only fruit we have on the counter is banana’s and I keep them in one of those green bags. The only issue is that the people I live with always forget to wrap the bag back up so it’s not wide open. This when combined with the dropping in temperature outside is really bringing the gnats into the house every time a door is open. I’ve even noticed them coming in thru the screen openings when a window is opened.
Hulk12 –
They work. You fill these and place them around the area you have the most issues with fruit flies and just wait. They may be around the cups itself, but eventually goes inside and rarely do they find their way out. Leave it for a week or so and you will see that it works.
The hole could be a little smaller if possible, but not sure if that would allow for less to go in. But sometimes, rarely, fruit flies can find their way back out. Not a biggie for me though since most of them are trapped in there.
Tesla –
These appear to work faster than the Terro “apple” trap I have used in the past for drain and fruit flies. Also I appreciate the suggestion of an alternate “fill” using Apple Vinegar (Bragg’s Organic) as they seem to prefer this MUCH more to the vinegar like solution that comes with this kit. Maybe they have high end tastes. I also like that there are six containers to place around the home as we have them all over at this point. Keep your house clear and clean of dirty plates, cups, fruit, open garbage or other attractive food sources when you place these traps. They need to be the only food source around to work best.

Oh how I love these things. Out of nowhere a few weeks back we got a BAD fruit fly infestation. I’ve never had those before and I’m still not really sure what happened, but oh man – I felt so gross. I tried some at home remedies first, and while they helped, they didn’t completely eradicate the problem. So I broke down and bought these. I’m so glad I did! I will say, the first pod I pulled out was clearly defective. I set it up before bed and by morning it was empty, and the solution was all over my counter. Tossed it out and tried again. This one worked. Like a charm. No leakage, and by the end of the day it was FULL of fruit flies. I kept it out for a few days, to be sure, but it completely cleared the problem up. I love that the pack comes with so many pods. I have 4 more stowed away, in case the problem arises again. And there’s plenty of the liquid solution for multiple uses. I would definitely recommend this product!

Five Stars for the effectiveness of the product, three stars for price. Basically for $14.99, you get six small plastic gismos that have a small opening. You fill with the attractant, and set these wherever fruit flies congregate. The fruit flies fly into the gismo, but mostly can’t manage to get out though the small opening. They drown. Simple and effective. As others have noted, the attractant seems to be apple cider vinegar or something similar. You can empty the containers with a bit of effort and refill them. One of these containers leaked and I had to toss it.
It occurs to me that you could probably duplicate this by using a very small glass jar (baby food size) and punching a hole in the lid and filling with vinegar. The advantage to these traps is that they are small and fit in nooks and crannies.
Truthfully, I would have been over the moon if this was $6.99, instead if $14.99.

These definitely work. I was so dismayed when all of sudden we had an infestation of drain flies in our second story. I’m talking hundreds. They came out of nowhere. I had purchased another brand before, but it wasn’t enough. I also did the home remedy thing with a glass, paper cone and vinegar. That worked but sometimes the flies would escape. No fun. I opened these babies up as soon as they arrived. You get 6 thin plastic traps and a squeeze bottle of vinegar. You squeeze the vinegar in and place your traps near the flies. Mine took care of the problem. So why four stars instead of five? Quite simply when I filled up one of the traps, it didn’t hold the vinegar. It made a big mess. So, make sure to place the traps on something that can gable liquid spills. Other than that, it would be a five star product.

For various reasons, we had a fruit fly problem in our kitchen. I tried homemade traps with Bragg’s apple cider vinegar. They did work– some containers worked better than others. The flies were attracted to one bowl in particular. But our vinegar traps couldn’t kill them faster than they were reproducing. We already had a bad infestation, and it was just going to get crazy. So I tried these BEAPCO traps. I set out two. Within 2-3 days ALL of the fruit flies were gone. At first I watched impatiently while the little flies would just sit there taking forever to go inside the trap. But if you just set them out and walk away, and forget about it for a day or two, you’ll come back later and find that there will be many, many little buggers permanently trapped inside the thing. (After two days I counted the flies in one, and I think there were around 30-40.) These traps are very small and discreet. You can easily hide them somewhere will no one will notice them; and, they are designed so that if they get knocked over, nothing spills out. Even if someone does get exposed to the contents, they are non-toxic.

Our back door/pet door does not seal right so I have trouble with fruit flies (and flies). I was overwhelmed and tried various diy tricks, fly paper etc. Nothing was working very good. I bought these to try and the worked like magic!! I bought 2 more boxes to have on hand and the 2nd box didn’t work as well. The fruit flies didn’t go near them. I ended up putting some Apple Cider Vinegar in one of them and it worked just like the original box. I’m guessing the liquid was bad in the 2nd box. I probably will not order this again. Pretty expensive for 6 pods and some iffy juice. I want something that actually works that is cost effective and environmentally safe. (And a door/pet door that is sealed so I don’t have this issue)

I wish I had pictures to include. I began developing a fruit fly problem and did not realize how quickly they multiply. Soon they were ruining our home, getting into our food, and just generally made my home unpleasant. I set these traps out at random areas (but added some apple cider vinegar) and it worked amazingly. They last forever too (much longer than expected– months). I would say that he formula works well but the cider with dish soap also did the trick (we did a mix of both). whatever home remedy you wish to try, the traps themselves are a MUST and catch all of them within days. Best part is that you can just dispose of afterwardz.

This kit comes with 6 traps and enough liquid to fill all of them as high as they need. The liquid has a slight vinegar smell to attract the little flies, but you don’t smell it once it’s in the traps. They are very easy to fill and not messy. The traps don’t leak and they work pretty well. It took a few days, but I started noticing flies in the traps. It hasn’t completely taken care of the problem yet, but it has only been a week and it has worked better than a spray product I had tried previously. These are supposed to last 30 days, so I expect all the flies will be caught by then. Overall, they work pretty well.

I should’ve taken a photo. These traps get 5 stars, the solution gets 3 stars. Fruit flies go into the trap, and they don’t come out. But the mild vinegar solution is barely effective as a lure.
I didn’t think I had a big fruit fly problem, but I’d seen a few by my kitchen sink and in one of my bathrooms, so I wanted to make sure that they wouldn’t become a serious problem.
So I read many reviews and purchased this kit. It comes with 6 traps and plenty of solution. I figured I could place traps in my 2 bathrooms and by my kitchen sink (in other words, traps were placed by all sources of running water).
I performed an experiment and filled 3 traps with the solution they came with. The remaining 3 traps were filled with my own prepared vinegar solution (1 drop of dish soap dissolved in 1 ounce of apple cider vinegar- soap was added to break the surface tension so that the bugs would sink and not just float at the top). I then placed 1 of each set by each of my 3 sinks; the original solution on the left, and my own prepared solution on the right. Within 2 weeks, I was stunned by my results.
The original solutions by each sink had 2, 2, and 3 fruit flies respectively. My solutions however had almost un-quantifiable amounts of fruit flies in each. Mu guest bathroom probably had a dozen (and I had never seen any fruit flies in there), but the master bathroom trap was densely packed with them, and the kitchen trap had so many that it nearly looked opaque up to the fluid level- there were so many fruit flies.
I left these out for a month and have now just changed all of the traps out with my own solution.
The cool part is that if you’re willing to sacrifice about 10 minutes of your time, you can empty and refill these with your own solution.

We were having a fruit fly issue in our kitchen, tried various products and natural remedies with zero luck. Moved everything movable to check for source and couldn’t find where these buggers were coming from. Came across this product randomly and decided to give it a shot and it works! IT WORKS! We’ve still got a few stragglers flying around but they should give way soon.
This stuff attracts the fruit flies quickly and the shape of the plastic cups makes it impossible for them to fly back out. We’ve really been amazed at how well this has worked.

I received a bag of cherry tomatoes and peppers from my son. Four days later the kitchen was invaded by fruit flies.
100 + fruit flies.
I have had this product for 4 days.
Not one fruit fly has gone in and drowned.
Keep all food sources out of sight.
The life of a fruit fly is about 2 weeks.
We are now down to less than 10 alive. It has been 21 days and all are almost gone.
The wife wanted to call an exterminator.
I am unwilling to pay about $90 for a visit.
At their size and weight it would cost about $10,000.00 a pound to kill them quickly.
They are slow flying and I can hand kill them 1 at a time when they land on the cabinet front.
Be patient, no fruit basket for now, no food on plate waiting for its turn in the dishwasher.
No food and no new generation of flies!
Well designed the product itself is small and unobtrusive.
Others have had good results.
If it had worked for me I had planned to move them top a spot on the top of the refrigerator out of sight.
I just guess that I have the wrong type of flies, and they are not interested in the attractant.

I never expected to review a fruit fly trap, but these things work beautifully. We compost and so had a slew of fruit flies hovering around an open compost scrap bowl (we’ve since gotten a sealed one, duh!) plus had a ton of tomatoes coming in from the garden. I’d tried the DIY of poking holes in saran wrap over a bowl of vinegar- caught like 3 flies. I put out 3 of these and caught hundreds of flies in a few days. I’ve found you can use a pipette or syringe to pull the old fluid out to refill- the bottle lasts longer than the number of traps. Plus you can refill with apple cider vinegar when you’re out of fluid.
Erin C. –
These things saved my house. I left for work one day with 3 fruit flies and came home that night to 300. I have made traps in the past using the old saran wrap with apple cider vinegar trick – and those work. But I wanted to try something new.
Pros:
– Worked like a charm – within a few hours these things started filling up!
– Small but still hold a lot of flies
– You can refill the bottle with apple cider vinegar when you run out of their solution
Cons:
– Price – for this price these should be reusable. I have found a way to do it but it isn’t easy. I wish these had a top/bottom that screwed together so you could undo it, wash it, then refill it.
– Refilling – so they aren’t refillable but for the price, I was going to get more than one use out of them. If you run it under water for a few seconds the fruit flies will come out for the most part. It’s gross but I survived. The problem is then you have a trap filled with water. So after several minutes of shaking and banging it in the sink, I got most of the water out, enough to refill with some more apple cider vinegar. Do not get rid of the bottle because you can refill it and without it refilling these things is a mess.
Overall I’m glad I purchased I just thing some small modifications would make these amazing instead of good.

Spill-proof. Small clear traps. Included bait did not work very well for me. Trap on right was right next to bananas & filled with included bait. Trap on left was on sink ledge & filled with Apple Cider Vinegar (the darker the better results I have been told). There is no “perfect” fruit fly trap – they all have pros/cons & trap with-in about 10% effectiveness of each other when using Apple Vider Vinegar as the Bait (vs included Baits). I also have the Raid & Terro Apple Traps.
If Spill Proof (ie child/pet Proof) is your #1 concern (vs attractiveness or re-useability) – then this may be the right trap for you. Or one of the right traps for you.

We have had horrible fruit flies this fall. I have no idea why, but they have infiltrated all the homes in our area. My sister suggested these traps and I was reluctant, as nothing had worked before and I doubted anything else would. These were AMAZING! Within a few hours, there had to be 35+ fruit flies who met their demise in just one trap. We had so many that I needed several (which is why ordered the 6 pack) but my-oh-my did it work! I also recommended these to my neighbors, They all bought them and were all very happy with the results. Just ordered my second batch for future fruit flies. Sorry, suckers…. your time in my house is done!

I love these so much! They have been a lifesaver around our household! We had a massive fruit fly problem, hundreds of them that couldn’t be killed no matter how clean the house was. After setting these out the first night and going to bed, I woke up and found at least 20 dead in each one and at least 10 more roaming around the rims. Over the last few weeks they have killed hundreds of fruit flies, they seem to prefer these to most trash even, and are extremely discreet to use. Not only do they kill the flies, but they keep them out of the way too. I can’t believe how quickly they have worked and at this point I only have a few resilient stragglers who are most likely traumatized from watching their brethren die in such multitude! Our fruit fly problem started in our garage and the little monsters infiltrated our house through the garage, which is now quarantined and not in use. If the first few freezes of winter do not kill them then I will be buying more of these to use in there.
Seriously, use this product! I cannot say enough how happy I am with it and how much it has helped, both in our house and with my sanity!

I’m not sure where they came from but I developed a fruit fly problem, mostly centered in my kitchen and bathroom. It wasn’t a huge infestation, just enough to be annoying, so I decided to try these traps to see if they would mitigate the problem.
The first trap I placed in my kitchen caught half a dozen fruit files in the first hour it was out. I was very pleased to see the product working effectively. The one in the bathroom caught four in the first day, although the problem was less in the bathroom than it was the kitchen.
After a couple of days my fruit fly problem is nearly gone. For me these traps were a cheap and effective way to get rid of the annoying little bugs without subjecting my family to pesticides.

I wouldn’t say my fruit fly situation is awfully bad, but its annoying and enough to make you notice it. I set up cups of balsamic vinegar traps with dish soap and it caught a bit.
Then comes more.. and more.. so i ordered these.
I set up 3 traps.. 1 week later and I’ve caught 5 fruit flies in total. So, each trap averages catching about 1.7 fruit flies. So on your basically paying $1.50 to get rid of one fruit fly. Is it worth it? Nooo. But then again, im down 5 fruit flies.
There is less around but like i said in one week ive caught 5 flies. That’s it.

I have a worm bin which has a fruit fly problem no matter what I do so I purchased these to control the problem and they have! They’re super easy to use – you just stick the nozzle of the bottle into the top of the little container and fill them halfway with the liquid and then place them where the issue is. The bottle of liquid has a seal inside so you need to unscrew the top and remove the seal before dispensing. The little traps themselves are quite small – about the diameter of a half dollar – and can fit anywhere. I set one on the wall next to my worm bin (don’t actually put it in the worm bin or the worms might crawl in by mistake) and within 24 hours it was filled with flies (see picture). These, obviously, do not last a full 30 days so this is not a six month supply at first. I replaced mine after the first 24 hours and it seems that the second one will last at least a week so I’d expect the six pack to last two to three months after the initial use and then replacement packages to be used at one per month for maintenance.
Overall, these are super easy to use, discreet, and work incredibly well and I highly recommend them.

I develop recipes for our family’s apple orchard and often will have apple peels and cores that attract fruitflies. I can tell you without a doubt that if it’s fruit flies you need to get rid of, then these will work!
I’ve tried the Terro brand, a few other bands, several different homemade contraptions with cider vinegar or wine with or without dish soap, etc. None of those caught as many fruitflies as the BEAPCO ones. I used the attractant that comes in the kit. These little things have caught HUNDREDS. I have no idea how the folks who’ve left one-star reviews failed to trap any. My only guess is that perhaps they had a gnat problem rather than a fruitfly problem. This does not work for gnats.
